Coffee + Dessert Pairings

There’s not many things in the world better than finishing a gigantic meal at Pasta Pantry and then finishing it all off with a perfectly roasted coffee and a homemade Pasta Pantry dessert. To maximize your pleasure of a heavenly afternoon–because we’re all about maximizing pleasure at Pasta Pantry–we decided to suggest a few coffee and dessert pairings. Your dessert and coffee mileage may vary, but here’s what our Sherwood Park insiders are snacking and sipping on.

First up, we paired Death By Chocolate and with our Nespresso brewed Latte. The layers and layers and layers of chocolate perfectly compliment the dual layers of steamed milk and foam.

Our next pairing is the is the Tiramisu. This pairing is for the espresso lovers who really want to give a jolt to their day. Tiramisu, which roughly translates to “pick me up”  in Italian, has as one of its main ingredients Coffee. You’re going to find the bold, rich flavour of the espresso will compliment the “sophisticated sin” of the Tiramisu.


Last, we paired our cappuccino with the chocolate coconut brownie.  A guilty pleasure, this brownie is first baked to a perfect, fluffy consistency, then smothered in chocolate and filled with flavourful coconut shavings. Why does a cappuccino go so well with the brownie? Well, besides the obvious point that a cappuccino goes well with everything, it’s the textured milk and foam that neutralize the espresso and offer an easy, delicious drink to even out the  coconut and chocolate of the brownie.

Now, don’t feel like you’re stuck having exactly what we laid out here. Try and mix and match your desserts and espressos and find out what works for you!
